Position Overview:


The Data Governance Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining the technical foundation that supports the organization’s data governance program. This role focuses on engineering solutions that enforce data standards, enable secure and compliant data access, and integrate governance tools across platforms. The position requires close collaboration with business data stewards, data engineering teams, and key stakeholders to design workflows, implement governance policies, and develop low-code/no-code solutions that empower self-service for governed data assets.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business data stewards to define and apply data quality rules.
  • Oversee data quality scans to ensure efficient operation and successful completion
  • Create and provide reports on data quality results to key business stakeholders.
  • Report and inform business data owners of data quality issues
  • Design and implement data validation processes to ensure accuracy and consistency across systems
  • Collaborate with data governance and engineering teams to enforce data standards and best practices
  • Develop low-code/no-code solutions to enable self service of governed data assets
  • Stay abreast of issues and regulatory changes affecting healthcare, data protection, governance and privacy within the industry and regulatory fronts and incorporate into the data governance program to maintain compliance

 

Required Skills

 

  • 3+ years of experience in data stewardship, data governance, or data management within a healthcare setting.  Experience in Revenue Cycle Management
  • Knowledge of data lifecycle management and data architecture.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR), healthcare coding systems (ICD, CPT), and clinical terminologies (SNOMED, LOINC).Understanding of compliance requirements with regulations like GDPR, HIPAA.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
